Who Are We?

We are volunteer EMTs, paramedics, nurses, physicians and first responders who donate our time providing emergency medical services in and around Maricopa County.

What do we do?
The primary mission of Medical Rescue is to provide emergency medical support to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office for Search & Rescue operations, special events, parades, special details. Our secondary mission involves regular patrol duty at the more than 1,000 square miles of recreational land in the Tonto National Forest and Lake Pleasant Regional Park. These recreational areas are visited by over 1.5 million people annually. Our busiest season is during the summer months working with the Sheriff’s Office Lake Patrol at Pleasant, Saguaro, Canyon, Apache, Horseshoe and Bartlett lakes and the Salt River recreational area.

Who can join?
Membership is open to first responders, certified EMS providers and other healthcare professionals living in Maricopa County. We encourage anyone interested in a career in EMS, or who is thinking about going to school to become an EMT, to join our group. Candidates must apply and be accepted into the Maricopa County Sheriff's Posse Program to become members. Please see our recruiting page for more details.
